    Magnetic charge Haft-Hohlladung 3 kg (HHL 3)

    Hello,

    Two questions about HHL 3.

    1) Have anybody seen a charge with painted baseplate (+marking); see the first two pictures
    2) Obviously the supporting J-shaped details next to the magnets have some sort of protective coating. Any ideas what type?

    Thanks for your opinions!

I have never seen a painted base plate either. Mine all have the unfinished base. My guess is that it is a post-war repaint and stamp by a collector.

Thanks a lot; any comment highly appreciated. I'm after a cap for HHL-3; I know it's very difficult to get this, but I'm announcing this just in case

Thank you spitfire-01. Could you post a close-up of that marking?

Don't get me wrong, I understand the desire to have one of these but... does anyone else think they look like a bit of bathroom plumbing?

Plumbing or not, I think this is one of the "ballsiest" weapons of the war. To sit in a fox hole while tanks and infantry are coming at you, and then at the last minute to jump out of that hole to attach this to the tank. That takes big balls.

A couple shots of Schnapps, some Scho Ka Kola and a few tabs of Pervitin probably wouldn't have hurt either. : )
