there is/was a dug up one of the same type just recently on ebay

anyone have a real one to show us? or any rounds that go with it? also wondered what type of pouch this was in? or perhaps a box

Yes, a real fake as Bruno mentioned...

Just for 49,99 That would be a much reasonable price....

              spigot type German GGrGer

Salut Bruno - Hello François - Hi to all,

many thanks for all the warnings !! I bought the ground-dug
launcher some time ago from Ebay and examined mine and the
one mentioned at this thread's start.

There is 1 obvious difference in manufacture, visible on my comparison
              pictures here.

The round shot from this launcher is the GG / P40 grenade, well described
by our good and most reliable Lexpev (as almost always in such cases !!)
              Thanks for that !

                  98k Fallsch.J. grenade launcher

Here are the pictures of my spigot-type 98k launcher
                  I recently acquired on Ebay:

Careful cleaning with EVAPORUST and everything will
be fine and at a reasonable price !

I am resurrecting this thread because I have acquired an original specimen of this launcher which I will have on display at the upcoming Show of Shows in Louisville. I have an example of the French postwar reproduction as well.

The originals are made in such a way that they will only fit a K98k with no front sight hood affixed. The front sight hood blocks the launcher from seating and locking properly. The reproductions are milled flat on the top rear end where the muzzle is inserted so that they will fit a K98k with the front sight hood fitted. These differences are observable in the photos provided.

Ferdinand W.: Do you know where your dug specimen was found?
