    Ive seen it before but was told it was a flare holder

      Hi,, these were used for flares and booby traps alike , These are as found,,,with flare remnents still in situ. it would be difficult to find one with
      the remains of the stiel regards Nick

                        Thanks for the info, i've found a bunch of these in Normandiƫ some years ago
                        I'm collecting anything related to the towns Castricum and Bakkum during WWII.
                        Also soldbucher from 116pzdiv. And 1944-1945 eastfront pockets, kampfgruppe and Oder front.
