    Zündschnur-Anzünder 39

    Hello Grossfuss,

thanks a lot for your fast reply and the close-up pictures.
I see clearly what you mean - yes, in combination with these
connectors the Zündschn.Anz. was used to ignite wicks in
    connection to a Sprengkapsel N°8.
Alone, without these brass attachment it was used with the NbK39 etc.
Nice specimen you have there, with a maker's code I've not yet seen on this
    kind of fuze.
I'll try to take some pictures of my Sprengpatrone Z - it was ground-dug in
the Ardennes and contained nice Zündschn.Anz. 39.

    Kind regards,

    Ferd

Yes, that's the part I meant, it's in two pieces, the inner one has 4 tongues which grip the end of the safety fuze.
The cap is the same shape as yours in dark green but to unscrew it you turn it clockwise (left-handed thread) whereas on an egg grenade fuze you unscrew the blue cap anti-clockwise.
      Best regards,

      Hi:
All the ANZ39 fuses unscrew to the "wrong way", it was a safety feature for make them difference from the BZE39 fuses. The ANZ39 had no delay.... guess what would happen with one of this attached into a grenade...

              Just a question,

Was the leaflet kept inside the Zündmittel can? or outside of the can but inside the Spr. Patr. Z behälter?

              Thanks for posting the pic
