    Luftwaffe 'BUTTERFLY BOMB'

Please enjoy this Luftwaffe SD2A 'Butterfly Bomb'.. The German butterfly bomb of WW2 was a anit-personel cluster bomb. Usually 24 SD2As were packed per cluster bomb.. The SD2A weighed 2 Kilos. and several different fuzes were used the one pictured uses a M41 fuze which can be set for air Burst or impact.. Other fuzes were anti-disturbance. Once the Butterfly Bomb was armed there was NO disarming it.. It had to be blown in place by Bomb Disposal Personal..Enjoy this -INERT- Luftwaffe Bomb.. BILL

Hi Bill, I have always fancied owning one of these, but I am very wary of them for the good reasons you mentioned Nice item and one that you don't see very often.

                  Cheers, Ade.

                          Vicious little monster....

There's an american version as well, so watch out for the right markings when buying one.

Hello Marcel, Yes; the USA had a almost exact copy called the M-83.. It came out in the 50s and is almost an exact copy of the German SD2A...BILL
