    Unlike the MP40, on which only the major parts have a serial number, all the parts of an MP38 are numbered, even the very small parts.

    I relooked at the photos and this is a parts gun. Some parts match, but these are the ones that are hard to remove as the sight. Naturally, a matching weapon is far more valuable than a non-matching one. Having said this, any MP38 and it's parts are scarce and valuable. Great display piece Chris!
