Mp38 with Granade [deacts]

Unlike the MP40, on which only the major parts have a serial number, all the parts of an MP38 are numbered, even the very small parts.

I relooked at the photos and this is a parts gun. Some parts match, but these are the ones that are hard to remove as the sight. Naturally, a matching weapon is far more valuable than a non-matching one. Having said this, any MP38 and it's parts are scarce and valuable. Great display piece Chris!

Would you believe that MP38's are now being faked! They are being made in the Czech Republic. Two were sold at Beltring last year. I have not seen them, only heard it from a fellow collector who handled one of them. They were priced under the odds.

The verdigris around the studs on the pouches needs to be cleaned off. It will pit the metal in time.
