KM Metall breast eagle / Officer Summer jacket

    Hello,
On a french forum, there is a debate about the athenticity of this eagle.
    Your lights will be precious.
    Kind regards,
    PM

I personally don't like it. It seems thicker than usual and the pin hinge seems different. Perhaps more experienced collectors like JP might be able to confirm.

        Salut Pierre,

Original gold bird in zink with most of the original finish gone. I have the same bird as yours as per attached picts but its a slightly earlier version IMO (judging from the different hardware). You are correct: the one at Weitze is of the same design but it is made of tombac. There were rumors in an old thread I cant locate that this variant was produced in France during the occupation but no confirmation so far

        Salutations des ex-colonies!

              Hello Jean-Claude, hello Norm,

A lot of thanks from my potential buyer and from the French forum "Passion militaria".

Your expertise is precious in this very picky area.

              Happy new year from France.
Merci Jean-Claude pour vos réflexions sur les fabrications françaises que j'ai lues avec beaucoup d'intérêt.
