Good question, looks like the one in U-505 but this one is missing the letters MT Bb (Machinen Telegraph Backbord) or MT Sb (Steuerbord) ...

on the other hand, on this picture of u-505 there is no MT Bb/Sb indication ...

and finally the luminescent dots are absent on #1 ...

the identification plate indicates the 3 letter code for wartime production, "lyt" which is "Siemens Apparate u. Maschinen GmbH", this firm also produced the telephones for KM U boats.

Hello ,
I doubt very much that this came from a u-boat as the word tauchen or dive is missing .
If a period piece it most likely came from a surface ship of some type .

As you can see in both U-505 pictures, the word "Tauchen" was manually applied.
