What is it about the cap that makes you believe the cockade and eagle are not period applied?

They don't look to be in position for a long time ,"incrusted" in the cap .
The KM band also .Look at the sloppy positioning on the back side ,
not even flat ...

Also under the sweatband seems to be cardboard...which is not what you want to see.

Why not cardboard ? on a private made cap , you will have more cardboard than "plastic" ? Plastic on issue ones ok and not all the time .
