    Woodwork Finds

This weekend I bought an m42 no decal from a vets grandson. He mentioned that he had more stuff, so the next day I went back. He said that his grandfather was part of the 9th US Air Force, a mobile unit that moved to France D+10. Story was that when Paris was overran, they found a warehouse full of this unissued stuff. He brought out this m43.....Paris maker marked and unissued. He mentioned also having a tunic but couldn't describe much about it and wasn't sure he could find it. I started thinking about the story and doing some research on the m43, and in doing so found an identical cap on a dealer site that was part of a vet horde of unissued KM caps and insignia. So I thought maybe there was something to the story and that the unit possibly overran a KM depot. So I was pleasantly surprised when he called me back yesterday saying that he found the tunic. I arrived to find an unissued KM HBT as well as pants!

Thanks guys. I did a search through the KM section and only saw a handful of KM HBT's posted. How common are they?

Not very. They don't get better than this one....lots of collectors are willing to pay a premium' for this caliber of tunic in this condition. Woodwork scooping is the only way to buy....keep it up.

teach a man to use the "search" function on the WAF and you feed him for a lifetime.
