Opinions welcome......... this was on eBay recently. Dose it seem to be a private purchase ?..original ? Does not seem very likely an issued jacket? Thanks hoping to learn

Yep it's not a Km ww-2 military issue but made by a private tailor and very hard to judge if this specimen has been made during the war? The shoulder-boards seems to be original ww-2 but but the rest no idea, maybe, maybe not

IMO the jacket is not even close in time period to WWII. I would date it 1980s or later. I'm not sure what else to say or write other than it is completely wrong other than being black and made of leather......but my shoes also meet those criteria.

Based on many originals I saw before, I do not like it.

Also, I would also date it much later, possibly 70s or 80s, based on the style and the fashion of overall appearance.

Funny who would hop up a nice leather jacket with original scerw on boards and only ask 400 $...........?? Seems like a lot of work?....not much profit.....Just saying

Here's the only shot I could find of a frist Lt.

If i have to keep mine hand up by the welfare it would be worth to take a needle and a jacket fresh from the dustbin to make some easy money. The shoulder-boards are worth €70 euros max, and a few buttons which make €100 euros together,......i think i have to work for less if you imagine that this could be done in one hour

                            here is another one.
There is also one in "Torpedo Los!" book of Franzius, commander of U-438.
                            But I can't reproduce it here ;-)

Such a jacket can be found for few bucks on a flea markets ;-)

                              Calculation is very simple.

Look, I am on your side, as are the others.
We have no interest in saying either of two options.

If you want to spend the money, go on, it's yours.
