    German Naval Emblem identification please

    Posted this in Imperial section but figure someone over here may know what this is, its very well made and about the size of a large egg. Any idea guys?

          Looks like the model (3 prongs) that was attached to an armband rather than the pocket/lapel model. Very nice.

            I agree with Kondor. What I don't know is whether this design predated the Third Reich since it had no swas on it. Does anyone know? Could this be an Imperial piece?

                  That is my point. It never had a swas. and the Navy has always been a very tradition oriented branch of service. So my question is whether this design is a hold over from older days. I am sure that there was a means of identifying the watch officer prior to the TR. Was this it?
