Greetings,
I am curious if there is/was a log or document that showed what items specifically received a stamped marker number? Why it was only the KM clocks from bulkhead to pocket watches that seem to have the numbers following? Eg: N 45613 or O 23561
I would figure that any high value item that was portible would have been up for marking, such as sextants, azmuths, charting tools, thermometers, etc... Yet they didn't specifically mark these ones
Of course there were Ost and Nord markers on these pieces; What designation would units serving in the Med or in the Black Sea have?
Look forward to hearing some answers.
Thanks,
JustinG
