    Tying a cap tally

    How do you tie a cap tally (German style)? I know how to do it the Commonwealth way, but those tallies are meant to be cut and shortened...

    Well, just noted this thread. The tally is not tied, it is threaded through the 4 strings, two vertical and two at an angle to shape the "knot" in the back. Here is what it should look like and with some practice, you will get it right. John

        I assume you are making a joke but of course both sides are correct and it is an excellent image on how to thread the ribbon thru the 4 threads on the reverse. John
