Kriegsmarine/Uboat emergency bag?

Would like to receive more information on this rubberized Kriegsmarine bag. My best guess is that it is some sort of emergency bag (Notpackung / Notproviant)? It was found together with some other Kriegsmarine/ Uboat stuff. All help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Friend of mine who collects KM equipment told me that this bag was used to transfer documents and small items from one ship to another. Anyone can confirm?

I can't confirm but it sounds very acceptable. What is the source of your friend's information please?

He said that similar bags there used even in post war ships plus referred to the book that I posted above.
