    WWI cammo fake??

This one was called as fake a couple of years ago by one member -- I wanted to make sure before I threw it in the fake pile that this cammo paint was obviously bogus. What do you think?

Post some photos of the inside as well. I tend to think that work was done either by a GI or in the 20's for tourists visiting the battle sites.

Looks like the paint came after the rivets were gone so probably long after the twenties.

20's 30's. After that WWII kinda put a damper on travel and the need to re paint them. Could be a 50's job but I was just going on the gut feeling. I think it was done early on. You saw better technique around the 50's.

The liner hole having white paint inside of it and the chips being painted over says post war to me.

Throw it on your fake pile. I sure hope you don't actually have a "pile" of bad helmets.

No I teach high school and I throw repainted lowend helmets in a box in the back of the room to show when I talk about the period. (along with good stuff) If some kid walks off with one at least I'm not out much

                Hello
No need to see more , the paint is fake and aged to look older than it is , take a look at the white paint.

You will have to admit it is very imaginative.
