If I understood well, the words of Rommel Rus means that if a person is afraid to collect military items, it's better that this person collects stamps and afterwords I suppose that Rommel says that an original dug item doesn't necessarily come from graves!

Please Rommel, correct me if I am wrong...

don't get ME wrong. I have nothing against ground dug items. Its better to have them above the ground than underneath. I have something against bones, skulls and other "private" Items in your cabbin.... Original OR fake...
Is that so difficult to understand ??? Or am I saying something very stupid here.
again... Respect for the dead, respect the soldiers that fought and died in the war(s).

              Hello fellow friends,

I don't think there is anything wrong with ground dug items from combat positions. I believe it would be a shame to let these artifacts rot away. I think as many items as possible should be saved. In doing this I believe this is in respect and in memory for the fallen. Some members think they are all bad and only want to promote pristine items that cost a ton. Some collectors think all these items are from desecrated grave digging. Some of these people have a strong interest in promoting and making huge money on the pristine type of items!

Everyone has their own preferences. I really like used items that were THERE!!!!!! To me these items show character and this is where the true soldier took a stand. Many mint like items tell me they were not used or were from a lazy desk jockey type who never seen action and hid behind a desk. Not all collectors will agree on there preferences with collecting. But, fellow collectors should respect each others opinions and quit being so overbearing with their attitudes and trying to make all collectors think the way they do.

              Take Care,
              Matt

                    Hi everyone !
Just my Opinion:I also like ground dug items and I dont have anything against them as long as they are obtain with respect for the fallen. Also not all the ground dug helmets are obtain from graves..I found a Czech M-30 in a spanish civil war trench with no soldiers remains under it:

I also have a nice WWI german M16:

And last but not the least:

here´s the other side of the helmet after gun-oil:

and..with a little help of our friend the oxalic acid (Thanks spin9977 for the recipe http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...188618&page=46 ) here´s the final resoult:
