I am currently collecting Kriegsmarine and Regia Marina items.
Both original and repro for my re-enactment.
Here are two Sommergibili Badges I managed to purchase from Italy and Germany.
This is the Submarine Honor Badge. Introduced in 1941 and used until submarine insignia was replaced to the different one. This one was purchased from German seller. He told me that this badge was from the former U-boat crew's estate. Probably, he got this badge from BETASOM, where Regia Marina and Kriegsmarine both operated their submarines.
This one is the Submarine badge. As far as I know, officers used the gold ones. While enlisted used the silver ones. However, this one is bronze. I am not sure if they issued the bronze ones. Please let me know if you have any information about the bronze ones.
