      another medal

      Oh well.
      This one doesn't belong to the 28 october Div. but I think it worth to be shared with you anyway.
      Is a medal of the First Blackshirts Division, the 23th of March.
      In front you can read the fascist motto Believe, Obbey, Fight, with the date 23 march 1919 (Raffaello will tell you what this date is) and the word INDOMITA (Never Surrender) on the flag.
      Very salty black ribbon!

        The other side with the word IMPLACABILE, the nickname of the Division, that means WITHOUT MERCY.

            This thread has been a real education for me as I had never even seen any of these medals before!

            They exhibit some interesting designs. What I did really like was the "art deco" styled fasces made up of just lines on the award document.

                    Very cool medal, I really like all the standards showing on same! Might you have any period photos of any MVSN unit standards, especially looking for one of the 45th Legion, and to also learn more about their war service record too.
