    "IDEL-URAL" BEVO Schield

Here I would like to show you my ""IDEL-URAL" BEVO shield. Unfortunately, it is in a pretty damaged condition.
It is attached to the piece of the uniform material, Based on the photo, is it possible to establish the originality of the zig-zag stitching?
It supposed to belong to the German member of the Volga Tatar construction unit.
Thank you in advance for your comments.

    Merry Christmas,
    Klaus

Nice shield! But with this one I am a bit reserved with regard to it being an original cut-off. Not so much to do with the stitching as I have seen very many variations with regard to volunteer shields. From machine or by hand, sloppy or very sharp. It is all possible. Just my gut feeling and no more than that. And for what its worth, and not saying they are not out there, but I have never seen a used Idel-Ural in my collecting life. Would be thrilled to find one!

Thank you very much for your comment. For a long time I had temptation to separate the shield from the backing material. Finally, I decided to keep it as is. I think, backing is preventing the further damage.

        Klaus,

Very nice as usual! I like the stitching, although not seen such before. The shields looks nice and beat up, plus well settled. This is also my first-time seeing a bevo Idel Ural in tunic removed condition. I like it.

Here’s my printed one from my collection.

I’m loving your posts! Lots of amazing shields being posted, making it a very Merry Christmas for us volunteer collectors.

          Mine

Here is mine. It was confectioned to a piece of cloth to give it more body. I have seen this before. The collector I got it from said it came from a big pile of these exact used printed shields in the US many years ago. He got a few for very small money as nobody was interested in these at that time. Now as we know they are rarely seen.

Thanks a lot for all the images showing your beautiful pieces.
Here I present my mint shield. Text "IDEL-URAL" is a bit thicker then the on the standard badges.
