    Sanitäts-nachrichtenstaffel...

    I am sure many people do not know that in the medical companies there was a small communications-detachment, the Nachrichten-staffel. There were, in a nachrichtenstaffel, 2 fernsprechanschlusstrupp each with 1 NCO and 2 privates (serving also as stretcher bearers when not need at the communication equipment).

    These men were part of the medical companies, therefore their boards etc were with a waffenfarbe of cornblumenblau INCL the patch for a funker:

    Here is a little impression of a communication-office in a medical detachment. This one is in Denmark, a newspaper is "Der Kopenhagener" specifically published for german troops in the Copenhagen area, as well as "Der Wehrmacht". He is also catching up on his medical knowledge in the "Unterrichtungsbuch für Sanitätsunteroffiziere und -mannschaften".
    Also visible his walk-out tunic, EM-visor and K98.

    Thanks for looking..!!..

    Cheers,

    Hans Kristian

              Thanks for the comments, much appreciated.

              Robert, I only made a few photos as I was photographing the communications-equipment (for selling). Just got the thought to make a little display.

                Nice presentation;
                Especially for those of us that collect the signals blitzen!
                Up until your post, I thought the medium blue blitzen was for TSD,
                a branch formed later war.
                I had never seen an example of it on dark green backing (M36, pre & early-mid war)

                Fred Green and I have had discussions about blitzen, and have examples of
                other less known branches: Feldgendarmerie, Veterinary and Bautruppen.

                As previously mentioned in past posts, blitzen are fun to collect, readilly available, and in a number of waffenfarben. (and at a very low price!)
                For the truly afflicted, they are also found in a number of material backings to match the tunic fabric: Dark Green, field gray, DAK OD, DAK brown wool, wheat HBT, reed green HBT, and black.

                Thanbks again for your enlightening post.
