      To me it is light brown or the color for Bau-construction.

            Its not as common as an artillery strap but by no means rare.

              I agree it is Bau, they are not as common as other branches. I would say they are seen about as transport +- maybe a little less.

                I agree that the light brown piping is for Bautruppen.
                They are not rare, but certainly not common.
                Since they are not for a front-line combat unit,
                they are not very desirable.
                Those that collect ALL of the Waffenfarben of the German Army
                are the exception.
                As far as RARE, Light brown piped straps with Cyphers (GOTHIC or LATIN
                letters) are DEFINATELY RARE!

                  These are rather uncommon to find, the cyphered bau. As Chris mentioned.
