What kind of jacket ?

sorry for my questions but I am new to "army" uniforms.
What was this jacket type used for ? Walking out dress ?

I am asking because of the tresse sewn at the upper edge on the collar.

BTW, I like this style and material very much !

Christian, it is an old-style/Reichswehr tunic - the precursor of the Waffenrock. The tress is mounted high on the collar just as with Waffenrocks. They were used for walking out and parade dress. I am assuming it was privately tailored given the unusual corduroy fabric. They are sharp looking uniforms!

I have attached another picture to show the fabric.

Yes, I think private tailored because of the corduroy fabric leading into this.

So maybe more for "walk-out" than official parades ?
But if a private tailored jacket why than not a wire eagle ?

Is this kind of fabric used more for "summer" jackets ?
Tresses mounted up with NCO's jackets equals to walking out/parade jacket ?

Sorry for those questions but I have not seen such an early jacket in this style.

As I said I like it very much and I am thinking to talk with Mike about a purchase.
