      Hello,

This is a pretty ugly eagle! You can see that is was reapplied badly but I wouldn't write it off just yet. I think a nice close up, straight on shot would help.

I believe there is a thread dedicated to these types as bonafide with several collective examples.

Ray, there are eagles similar, but better pics are required of it and it is not stated that the eagle and EK ribbon is replaced. J

I agree, just a comment that there are similar fake and originals of this unusual pattern. If I recall some of these have a star on the breast and the crossed threads as GAMS1 asserts.

                  Hello,

Please describe to me what a "Typical French made Eagle" looks Like. What are the characteristics? What makes this a typical "French Made" eagle??

I would agree based on these pics that the eagle is probably French and occupation made. Key thing is the horizontal embroidery across the chest, also the shape of head and beak. There are similar machine embroidered heer and SS examples that are well discussed.

                      Patrick,

Thank you very much! I have asked this before and could not get a clear clarification/explanation of the Characteristics of a "French Made" eagle. Thanks again.
