WWII German leather long coat with "Zipp" zipper

Ok, so I swear I have personally seen this coat before. This is an interesting leather coat but I was curious is anyone could help me on exactly what it might be? It has only one zipper on the left chest that is where the zipper marked "Zipp" on the front and "DRP Nuremberg." There is no tag or other marking inside the coat. There is a Afrika Korps breast eagle sewn to the lining above the inner pocket. Can anyone help me ID the coat? Is it military? Is the eagle original? Does anyone know why its in there?

This style of leather coat was apparently very popular, both pre and post 1945. It's the most common type to find, and most of them date from the 50s-60s. There are period photos showing them being worn by Army and Luftwaffe officers but not very frequently--most officers wear the standard leather double breasted buttoned coat with cuffs. The breast zippered pocket is not standard but presumably was added by one of the wearers of the coat over the years.
