    Olive green Berghose

    Hi Guys,

These trousers came with a gebirgsjager tunic. Imo a pair of private purchase (and made) Berghose in excellent condition.
After the war these (and also the tunic) wound up in the Filming industry. There is a stamp of Bavaria Filmkunst inside the hose.

    Opinions/Input are always welcome.

    Erwin

Appears to be mottled material (grunmelliert) as used by polizei.
Also similar to 1st model jump smock material.
          Could be polizei related.

It is not Grunmelliert, it is similar in color with the mottling but it is trikot wool. The size stamps are odd as is the missing cloth label. They may be early post War/early BW.

yeah I see it now...ribbed cloth, gabardine...was looking at it on my phone earlier...so less clear...
It's same speckling in the fabric though...Here's my Polizei tunic in Grunmelliert! Indeed a finer fabric...not tricot...

IMO a post war trousers , not a period private made.
Plastic buttons, post war typical cut and lining .

Okay Nick, got it. Everyone knows now that you have a grunmelliert Police tunic and pants. Here is a picture of a Chipmunk which also does not really have much to do with the original thread aside from the fact it also is postwar.

Cute squirrel. I was in DC last week and saw plenty of them albeit the gray variant, grew up with those in DC as a kid...brought back memories!
Not too many where I live in So.Cal. Thanks for sharing! however a WW2 period image would probably attract much more attention though! Note grunmelierte FJ helmet cover!

In regards to the fabric presentation; not the same so not related, but nevertheless I posted them as I wanted to show the difference between the two, illustrating that you were right, that's all. Btw the speckled pants I just got several weeks ago from a fellow WAF member...
Makes for a nice set. Now to find a cap in this material!

In the late 70's as a teenager I bought my very first German uniform; a Heer NCO with bottle green collar and cut in the same material, so these were worn in the Army on occasion. In Beaver's book there is a uniform in this material with SS insignia...but both are NOT the "trikot" (ribbed gabardine) as shown in post 1. Again you were right! (I had looked on my phone...small image)
Could very well be post war set, these pants...which explains the belt loops +.plastic buttons...Too bad!

It is a Chipmunk not a squirrel. Thanks for sharing that fascinating informative story.

Hmmm okay, that's an eye opener..... I didn't expected.
So except the other issues, also the belt loops and buttons give it away?? Weren't these used than?
