Heer M36, 37th Recon Battalion Tunic

    Hello everyone,
I bought this tunic years ago, but I'd like to share it today as it is one of my favorite pieces in my collection. Photos are by well known dealer, but they are better than my own photos.

This is a Heer M36 tunic dated 1940 that belonged to a soldier in the 37th Reconnaissance Battalion, which was part of the famous 7th Panzer "Ghost" Division under Erwin Rommel, famous for it's participation in the campaign against France in 1940.

          Hello,

What you have is a M40 tunic with a wartime added M36 collar. Very nice tunic, all sewing looks legit aswel.

Thanks for the correction, yes you are right. I should have stated M36 "style."

Glad y'all like it as much as I do. Would this have been a walking out tunic, or more of a combat tunic?

              Thanks!

Could be used for both but with the new collar and the good condition it is in, I would believe this was a walking out jacket.
