    Artillery Officer Tunic. Modified EM?

    Hey guys,

This is a recent purchase of mine. It looks to me like a former m42 modified for officers use with a dark green collar upgrade as well as pleats added to the upper pockets. Correct me if I'm wrong. Just the right amount of saltiness.

    Very nice!
Interesting the pleated chest pockets! Indeed it started life as a late enlisted grade M42 from 1943 with pleats added to the chest only...
for a smarter look, along with the M36 collar for officer use! No French cuff conversions, nor dagger provisions, so its for field wear!
not his "best dress" uniform...which makes it more interesting I feel, hence the "combat use" quality wool...!
    Very nice!

It is the type of tunic generally worn in the field and for training. Officers often used modified and tailored issue tunics (regulations dating form 1936 called for them to use issue clothing) for day to day on base and in the field and during the War in combat for wear but not for walking out etc.
