Fred Green - Is this real?

    Hey Fred,
Is this early panzer T-insignia real?

Other opinions welcome as well, or course.

Give a man an opinion and you feed him for a day,
teach a man to use the "search" function on the WAF and you feed him for a lifetime.

I have never seen an original Panzer "T" insignia with WHITE eagle.
The GRAY eagle is the only Panzer "T" insignia that I've seen.
(Ditto Flat silver wire Panzer "T"; never saw that one either!!)

          Fred, how about you??

also it doesn't seem like the back threads are twisted?

material looks nylon-like as well... but folded behind to fool.

                orig

If you have a white Panzer cap eagle and compare it to the "T" in question you can see the difference. Ditto everything Chris just wrote.

                  Tom,

It looks like you got your answer!!

I have never seen the white on black "T" form and don't believe that they were ever made. I have never seen a Flatwire "T" form either.

Fred, I hope you don't mean ANY flatwire T-insignia . Another forum member poster this really nice one on another thread.

Gray vs white is what makes a difference, first of the misalignment of the swastika arms. These "T" shaped insignia were earmarked for the rare 2-button Army Panzer garrison cap introduced in 1942 , that is two years after the color of Army cap and breast eagles had been changed from white to gray. The forger seems to have overlooked this synchronicity.

                            Hello MP,

I believe that this is true for the panzer "T" and only the panzer "T". As Tom posted a beautiful 1st pattern "T" form and I have owned white on dark green and Grey on dark green. These were first used on the bergmutze.
