1st Pattern Grade 2 Marksmanship Lanyard

Hi guys. Im not asking for opinions on this, although opinions will never be disregarded, so if you do notice something, please do say
Ive hopefully done my research on this.

This is my 1st pattern Grade 2 Marksmanship Lanyard from 1937/38.
I have taken a few references from the Bulls-Eye book of similar name.

    Obverse View

Close-up of Shield on Rosette (sorry for the grass/fluff on it, I didnt realise until uploading)

Close-up of obverse of Rosette showing the 'Bottle-Green' wool backing instead of the 'Field-Grey' normally found.

Close-up of the obverse of the plaited/braided loops showing the matt rayon ribbon/tape.

Close-up of the lower knot and lower button loop showing the attachment of one shell showing it to be a grade 2

This also arrived in my possession with only the lower half of the box. Is this original?

I few specifics taken from the book.

Measurements were taken from 22 Lanyards for overall length. From upper button loop to lower button loop when stretched out, an average length of 41.5cm was achieved. mine is measuring 41.5 - 42cm.

The Lanyard is formed by braiding 8mm cord into 14 intertwined or connected loops forming a chain. Mine is measuring 8mm

Knots at either end of the chain are 15mm in diameter, and mine measure out at a little under 15mm

While the knot above the rosette is 10 mm in diameter, mine is measuring a little over 10mm

The rosette and button loops are made from 3mm matte woven aluminium woven cords, mine measure at 3mm

The back side of the loops are generally lined with 15mm matte aluminium-coloured ribbed rayon ribbon or tape. Mine measures at the exact 15mm
Most often the ribs in the ribbon run at a right angle to the length of the Lanyard (horizontally), though other examples have been found to run vertically.

The material is tapered to cover only the rear of the narrower knots.

I hope this is of help to some people.

Nice 1st Pattern Grade 2 for Artillery personnel.

Not sure about the box as I have never seen one in a box. I have only seen a few in their original paper wrap, but the box does look convincing. Hopefully Tim will comment.

This marksmanship lanyard, its shield, and its shell look fine.

The only detail that looked a bit odd to me was the bullion "string" attaching the shell to the lower knot. If you look carefully at other examples you will see the attaching string usually is constructed more "compactly" (best word I can come up with right now) whereas on this lanyard the string is simply 2 loosely intertwined bullion threads.
