Bringing this back to the top...
Here a "Protectorate Army" (Czech) soldier in a light weight cotton (not HBT it appears) fatigue uniform.
He was in a group photographed in Italy in 1944 when these troops were sent there as non combat construction troops to help build fortifications
    for the Germans.

The uniform is interesting for comparison purposes! (note shoulderstrap) but has hidden buttons all around...

Thanks for posting, Nick. The shoulder straps are configured differently with the strap going perpendicular across the board at the base, but the end is definitely tucked under the button like the tunic under discussion.

I have since seen these in an oatmeal color, in addition to the green shade.

I appreciate you keeping your eyes open for additional clues and possible lineage characteristics.

      s/f Robert

Check the sleeve binding gray HBT trim material with the Pink Smock pocket bags when you have a chance!

I think I've spotted another of these Czech tunics.
              What do you think?

I was pretty sure in some reference someplace (and pictured) these with the sewn in HBT boards are referred to as "Ost Tunics" for Eastern Volunteers. The YYB (which I own) of course has straight cut pockets but there could be lots of variants.

This looks like it could be from the same "family" of uniforms, and has some differences and cut.

Notably, the shoulderboards don't roll-over or fold under at the buttonhole and there are some stitching differences as noted, but I believe the blue-green tunics and this oatmeal specimen are likely from the same maker for intended use by the same force.

I have seen these oatmeal colored types that are cut exactly like the greenish ones. Interesting tunics alright.
