    Splinter parka Stalingrad

Was the splinter pattern reversible parka worn in Stalingrad? Does anyone has a pic of this occurence. I have seen the helmet camo cover worn there. Thanx . Jacques

i dont think so as it was the first winter 42/43 as wintertarnanzug was issued in gray/white ,even helmet cover is questionable here i mean the factory made one, field made covers exist at this time for sure.

No one has got any more information? The pics I have seen does not clarify this, most photo evidence of POW's with parka is after Stalingrad.

        Really interesting question Jacques.

I've checked my Stalingrad books especially the ones by Jason Mark and couldn't find any photo's showing the splinter parka.

Will be interested to hear what other members say.

        Cheers

There are pics of splinter parkas used in Stalingrad.

To bad I don't have a book under hand now.
