Chaplain Boards , Strange Waffenfarbe

Hi

I know supposedly they were not supposed to wear boards but these seem close and I cannot match them to any other farbe.

Any ideas on this color?

Appear to be Nebelwerfer Bordeaux Red.
Chaplains wore only collar tabs.

On the second pic they definatley look like well worn Nebelwerfer Hauptmann boards, and that's not a bad score!

They are early Nebel boards

Was wondering where you were Johnny.

I had bought them with the idea they were Nebel. I have never had Nebel boards and did not expect such an odd color nor the texture on the reverse to be so velvety like that.

I also picked up one of his EM Boards.
