Chevron

Gentlemen,

Who can tell me whether there are certain measurements to sew a chevron on the left sleeve (measured from the shoulder).
Or is the chevron right in the middle of the shoulder and elbow?

Generally speaking, one usually sees the top of the chevron approximately even with the bottom of the breast pocket flap.

Hi Patrick,

I cannot find exact measurements, but looking at original photos that I own, and photos in reference books, it does seem that chevrons were usually sewn midway between the shoulder and the elbow of tunic and greatcoat sleeves. A radio blitz would be sewn above the chevron, if one was worn.

Here is a close-up from one of my photos. It is not fantastic, but it gives an idea of where a chevron would sit on the M36 greatcoat.
