Ugly private purchase breast eagle

Hi everyone,

Fresh from this morning's post comes a studio portrait of a heer unteroffizier with a private purchase breast eagle. The photo itself bears the impressed stamp of a Narvik studio. I'm posting this as a reference pic for this style of private purchase eagle. Personally, I'm not keen on this type at all. For me, they look more like Tweetie Pie than an eagle, but that's just my opinion. They are a 'variant', and eagle collectors will hopefully be interested to see this. In the close-up pic, you can see the ghosting where the original eagle was before this bad bird replaced it.

I guess that if we found a jacket with that one on it we would surely give it a . Let's learn from this one and file the photo, just in case...

Makes me wonder how many of these birds were passed up because someone thought they were fake. There is definately alesson to be learned here. Thanx for sharing.

Something is not right with that photo, the swastika is reversed, but the image is not.

Collar tabs are applied backwards as well.

My guess is that it is not wartime at all.

Im pretty sure I have had an eagle like the one on the first picture, and im also pretty sure I passed it along as a fake
