    Help IDing German? Patch and metal insignia

    Hello,
    Can anyone help me ID these insignias or translate the writing on the tag? Thanks a lot!

      Postal (telephone and telegraph) and related to Imperial Germany!
      Found this image in the web, a match!! Seal of the Post and newspaper ministry in Berlin (around 1900)

          It reads:

          Adlerschild für Helferarmbänder gestiftet vom ? Peterstal

          Eagle shield for deputy arm bands given by (or to) the municipality of Peterstal

          It is a badge for an arm band for deputized Imperial Postilions.

          Here is a Bavarian Postilion uniform with such an arm band.

            Makes perfect sense...it is a shield that was supposed to be stitched on an armband for postal helpers
            (auxiliary postal workers not wearing uniforms)

              The fabric one is from the Weimar period 1920 to 1933
