It is a modified Reichsheer tunic made from Moleskin. The markings are for Pioneer Battalion 7 and 1st Company Pioneer Battalion 17. I cannot tell from the pictures but the insignia looks loosely and poorly applied? If that is the case it probably was restored.

I changed RH to Reichsheer, it is the title of the German Army before Hitler and the change to the Wehrmacht and "Heer". The jacket dates to the 1920s. These were worn during the War also as hot weather and drill tunics.

The insignia looks to be reattached but much better pics would help determine that. These early Moleskin tunics are very nice, always like these. Matt

Johnny R already identified this tunic accuratly, with restored insignias.
I would only add colar was modified too, with a thick of post 1939 hbt material.

I think the depot stamp reads M31. Nice tunic.

That is really interesting with the hbt material added to the collar, a first for me. Would be worth restoring it back to a Pioneer tunic, should be a EM or NCO with those depot/unit stampings. Matt

It could certainly have been worn by an officer who had been issued this as an enlisted soldier or NCO in the early 1930s.

That is a possibility but either way the insignia is restored to the tunic as it sits now. Matt

I would say the insignia was added quite poorly, great tunic though! worth removing the eagle and re sewing properly and not through the liner.
