    Catch of the Year

This Freise Indian patch that went on Ebay for laughable 515$ has got to be the catch of the year in my eyes. Sadly could not bid due to sellers restrictions, but I wonder if anybody from the forum got lucky?

I am not convinced that this one is original.

Can you elaborate as to why? From comparing to other known examples, I think its a spot on.

Weave on the back looks like very thin artificial silk...wonder if it will pass burn test...

just curious if anyone knows of a 100% original one with known provenance as i don't know if there is actually any known fully original ones to compare to especially as at the end of the war the remaining indian troops were all sent back to india to face charges of treason i can't imagine many patchs would have not been burnt etc unlike other forign shields

Agree, It looks good to me. The back weave is 100% correct. I'd give my left one to own it.
