Can anybody offer a description of field and service trousers worn by Reichswehr enlisted men? E.g. what color (stone / field grey) and did they have branch piping down the side seams? Thanks

Reichswehr trousers
I picked up the Verlag Militaria publication on Reichswehr uniforms which is a very exhaustive study with lots of eye candy.
To answer your question, the Reichswehr wore stone gray trousers both in the field and service dress. There was an option to purchase piped trousers with your service dress uniform. Some would have a matching feldgrau trouser, piped, but the order of the day was steingrau for sure.
