    Blitz...but which waffenfarbe?

    first pics with flash.
    second without....is faded and lighter coloured to front side.

    what waffenfarbe? smoke?

        The photos make it hard to tell but I am with Matt, looks panzer pink to me as well.

          Take a picture out side in daylight without a flash. That is the best way to tell. It looks like Vet to me based on the back. Flash makes it hard to see true colors.

                Blitzen came in many shades depending on manufacture. Machine embroidered, hand embroider, dress use, field use, etc. I don't believe Veterinarian units had their own signals. More likely for General staff. They are "hot" pink. The one posted is definitely for Panzer.

                  General Staff officers did not have signal troops. Soldiers permanently assigned to OKH/OKW would have worn signal blitzes and boards etc. in carmine. Veterinarian units - at larger unit level such as horse hospitals etc. did have internal signal troops. I have seen blitzes on enlisted and NCO Vet. Waffenrocks. I still think this is carmine and the exterior has faded to pink.
