Agree stripped tunic with fake insignia added. The AKCT is a Fake 100%. As is the Eagle a fake. The straps & tk's do not impress me either....
Tabs are ok as is tresse but post war additions as well.

Another standard tunic souped-up badly in this case.

        DAK Tunic

Agree with previous comments about tunic, still looks to be an original 1st pattern and could easily be stripped back and restored with wartime DAK cotton and insignia

Mike was it a from a local Aussie collector/dealer?

Restored ? Souped-up is more accurate. But agree with your basic observations.

Whatever Tim. You stick to your emotional catchphrase of the month and I'll just call it as I see it.

              Hi Mark

Hope you keep calling it as you see it. I've been meaning to mention something. In some of the other Forums on WAF, like Visors for example there has been a discussion on policing their own area of interest. I think that as far as DAK/Tropical tunics & caps You and the other Mark(s) & Greg & Matt & OSS really do a tremendous job outing the fakes here on this Forum and it is greatly appreciated

Just a note souped-up dates back to the 70's, just like some of the fakes. "emotional catchphrase" i like that.

The term "restored" would be generous in my estimation. As mentioned, the bogus RBNr., the addition of phony skulls and phony insignia is more a case of mercenary dealer fraud than a collector lovingly restoring a piece of history. It's a shame really.

I would say this was a stripped worn tunic that had everything added to it post war. The CT does not show any wear compared to the tunic.

As stated i purchased this in a group lot which had a set of Panzer phones , 2 sets of throat mics, pith hat 1st pattern, HJ knife ect ect..

This was the only tunic in the lot, I am pleased to say that i didnt i didnt pay much for it..
I got it & the other items at my hotel while i was at the sos this year.
I will just put it down to a Real tunic that has been restored using Fake Insignia except for the tress & collar tabs.

Now i have to deceide weather to keep it or sell it !!

Thanks for all your comments Much appriciated & thank God for the WAF !!

                      Mike..

                        Mike,
I'd advise the removal of the reproduction insignia at the minimum - it really does detract from the tunic's over-all appearance.
The addition of insignia that was never there indeed warrants the term 'souped-up' Tim
                        Regards,

Man Lenny, for you to react like that it must have really had some bad pieces in it.
