Opinions on this Walking out tunic

Gentlemen, I am thinking of purchasing this tunic for my collection. I am currently looking for a Captains walking out tunic or Waffenrock. I know it's not mint, but does anyone see any red flags besides shoulder board condition ? Any comments on this dealer ?? Good, Bad, or otherwise ??
Here's the link. I have asked for better pictures. All comments welcome.

    Hi Rob,

There's positive comments about the dealer here:

    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=533634

I think the eagle is probably re-attached to the tunic; if you look around its edges, it looks like it has two different colours of thread that were used to attach it. Not a major thing; re-attached eagles are a fact of collecting tunics.

    All the best,

    Mark

Nice looking tunic with most likely reaplied bird at a decent price. Actually one of the nicest geschoente Feldblusen that I have seen.

You should reserve it, if you want it, it is dangerous to post nice stuff on here if it is for sale. Someone else will snag it.

Here is a comment from another forum member. Any concern with the late application of ciphers ?

"It may just be the pics but the color overall seems a little off for a piped walking out tunic. Also, that particular regiment was was not created until 1944, from what I was able to find - it is rare to see piped tunics for high-number units as they were not to be produced after 1941, I believe. An officer could of course have put his new unit's numbers on the boards when he was transferred to that unit."

Ok, I went ahead and got the tunic. For the most part everyone agreed there were no red flags. For some it boiled down to collecting preferences and condition. Mint vs Non-mint. i will keep everyone posted when it comes in. Thanks to all for your comments. Rob

Good that you got it, was a bit affraid RSA Jacques beat you to it but he has enough of these, its a great tunic and the colour is ok to my opinion. And at a very descent price too and the dealer is good so congrats to you.
This regiment of 250ID was founded early 1940 and came from the much older Landwehr 182 regiment according to the Lexicon so no problem with those numbers, its all aok to me!
I like these piped tunics, favourits are inf and art ( last getting rare due to fast dealer career promotions if you understand what I mean)

                        Rob,

Congratulations on buying the tunic. It's a good one, that's for sure.

And hats off to Jacques for claiming to have bought it. Putting off the 'snipers' (polite term for this sub-species, borrowed from eBay) who would try and swipe the tunic from under Rob's fingers is the act of a true gentleman. A great start to the new year.

                        All the best,

                        Mark

PS - I love the way the collar tab backing material is a perfect match for the piping. The tone matches exactly.

Guys, thanks for all the uplifting comments on the tunic. It makes me feel better !!! I think, as most of you agree, I got a good one. Not mint, but "USED NOT ABUSED" which is the way I like them. I talked to Spencer and asked him about the eagle. He said that it was original to the tunic and not reapplied. Came from a VET source. I plan on calling him again tomorrow just to reverify. So if the eagle is reapplied what's everyones opinion on that subject ? i know it can be a sticking point for some collectors. Does anyone know of a good thread here to tell the difference/ distinguish between original to tunic and reapplied eagle insignia ?? Thanks Rob !!!

Thanks for running the smoke screen Jacques. I was sweating it there for awhile !!! Still waiting to hear about reaplied vs original eagles.
