It looks good, but check the end threads with a blacklight. Some of the postwar tresse was made using original loom templates.

The spool could be added later but it is something to note. I know they are making new tresse and waffenrock type litzen but these are usually (as Bob noted) made with a synthetic base. Most the fake insignia like this is made so if it is applied to a tunic it is difficult to tell if it is not original. Most the clues that things are newly manufactured are inside the tresse weave or on the reverse.

I have the same tresse which I bought as repro...to me biggest clue: (besides the modern spool)
Note one edge is proper silver...the other is NOT! unfinished white...

If you flip the entire roll (now shown all edges silver, rolled up), all the edges would appear as white! A BIG red flag to me!!! (even though the diamond pattern is correct)
but if this is an acceptable variant, than I bought real tresse at a repro price....(on ebay)
and only when I received it, (about 1 meter worth...) did I notice the difference in the two edges !
Perhaps its made double-wide and than cut so the inner white core gets exposed when converted to a single strand tresse??
(yes Besslein, another creation for my exotica collection! Cossack impression...)

Yes, I see it is being sold as a new product on ebay. The seller is an Indian concern operating out of Germany.
