Hi,
is your OS cap really Generalstabsoffiziere red ?? or artillery ??
Is there any evident difference in color ??
I have got in my collection one OS cap which belonged for 100% to Generalstabs officer but I thought this was his cap before he became stuff officer and earlier he served in artillery. But maybe I`m wrong and this is his General Stuff cap ?? Please have a look.
Such a excellent uniform set!
I have a question about the collar tabs. So the GB officers have special style collar tabs in white, but I've seen a GD officer's tunic(which belongs to an officer who served in WW1) with the collar tabs made of gold wires and sewed on a crimson plate. Is this a pravite purchase or some kind of privilege of those who served in WW1?
Albert, are you confusing the Hermann Göring division with Grossdeutschland? HG units wore the white tabs. Not sure about the gold wires n a crimson backing - OKH staff officers wore gold embroidered litzen on carmine, I believe.
The combination of a GD CT and the gold OKH General staff collar tabs would be possible but it would have nothing to do with WWI Service. I think he is talking about the GS field service collar tabs in white cotton on green for the regular service tunic.

Don
Don, you are correct. They did until 1942, I belief. J
