    Feldbluse question: real or fakes?

First of all: I am recently new,and have not yet aquired books about uniforms, but intend to soon.

I came across some I have never seen before, seem like dongerie(same as drillich?),is this an obvious fake or were there made like this at the wars end?

    And tunic #2:

The buttons seem to "fresh",and the chevron and collar looks strange?!?
I personally think it's a repro. What do you think? And why?

    Any opinions on either tunics?

Drillich is IMO original, but Luftwaffe style. Look at the 'mixture' of two pocket styles: 'M42' at bottom, 'M33-40' for the breast pockets.
I sold one without knowing this, seems they are somewhat more scarce than WH ones...
Luckily it went to a nice guy...

You could be right about the second tunic. Large size, I believe? The insignia are very sloppyly applied, partly fakes IMO.

What did they do to the eagle? Shoot at it with a 155 mm howitzer? Seems that someone applied the European rules regarding the ban on swastikas... to the full...

Of course I meant 'M 43' style for the bottom pockets.

So you think that the drillich is original, but Luftwaffe instead of the panzer piped shoulderboards someone attached to this? Interesting..

It certainly seems more legit than the #2 tunic, but maybe someone else also could comment on these

The eagle on #2 was supposibly de-nazified...

Nice original Drillich tunic in LW cut.

The 2nd one seems to be a chap repro by STURM.

            Tunic #2 is absolutely a Sturm-made reproduction.

Like I said, Panzer boards don't belong on this Drillich, because it's a Luftwaffe model tunic. On the good hand, they are more scarce tha Heer ones. You could get a fully badged WH one in better condition for this LW one (in a swap).

Thanks guys, good info! Can anyone point me to a thread about books on the subject that I should read regarding learning to tell the difference between models of tunics, and of course spotting fake ones and fake insignia?

                Thanks!

Order the book 'Feldbluse' of 'Histoire et Collections', that's a good start.

By the way,I forgot to ask: what was this jacket(picture #1 LW style) used as,in the field as a combat uniform or merely as a work tunic?

What were fitted on this, what kind of eagle, insignia, collar patches etc.??

If someone also can post pictures or links that would be great!

Other LW M44 tunics I've seen look totally different, made of wool or something like that..
