Need opinions on this Medical Officer grouping...

Hi all,

I was contacted about this Medical officer grouping, consisting of the officer's papers (some appear to be copies), copies of photographs of the officer (not originals), and the officer's tunic. I'd like to get some opinions on this set before I even consider an offer.

One of the things I noticed right off is the Social Welfare medal and the Iron Cross are in opposite positions on the tunic versus the photos. Iron Cross is on the left in the photos, but this set has the Iron Cross on the right. I guess it's possible they could have been switched around at some point, but does create question.

What do you guys think?

Way to spot them Fred!

I would ask for better photos of the collar front and back, as the piping does not look like the normal collar application. May just be the photos, but can't hurt to ask. Piping down the front almost appears black, and seems to be a much deeper blue than the collar piping, tabs, and boards.

A few things to check closer.

The medal bar is in reversed order, and isn't the one in the pictures.

Wow!! Good observation! Of all the things I thought were a little off about this set, those were not in the top 5

I'll see if I can get more photos once I hear from a couple more people. I'd like to request all the photos at once.

Note the wing tip of the eagle of the parade tunic in the photos is even with the second button. Compare that to the tunic for sale. I would not buy it. I am not 100% sure the waffenrock is WWII era.

Those are not the same tunics - one is a Waffenrock and the one in question is a Geschönte Feldbluse - BUT - the color of the collar on the piped tunic is really off - I have never seen a Waffenrock or piped field tunic that had anything other than a dark bottle-green collar.

You are right on it being a piped tunic not a rock- I thoguht it was the tunic shown bottom center but it is not. Note the tunic for sale has 6 buttons which is rare for dress tunics

EK on the bar - is it repainted ?? or is it one piece solid cross ?
