Keep the photo. It's in Brian L Davis's book 'German Army Uniforms and Insignia 1933-1945'. Older book, but easy to find on Amazon.com starting at $14.95

To answer Samir's question at Post 9, this is a waffenrock.

The unfortunate original owner was killed during the French campaign, May 1940.

          Beautiful Rock Mike, just beautiful!

Samir, I would definitely suggest an M-33, M-34, M-35 tunic. They're a bit more scarce, but early pre-war tunics have a certain charm to them that you just can't describe... much like a beautiful Transitional DD.

If you're going to engage in the world of Tunics (and believe me, they're just as addicting as helmets) might I also suggest this book:

Feldbluse: The German Soldier's Field Tunic 1933-1945

          http://www.amazon.com/Feldbluse-Germ.../dp/2352500109

It's an absolutely wonderful book for describing the various combat tunics used throughout the Third Reich. And the pictures (both period and reference) are beyond compare!

          Good luck!
          Jeremy

The tunic pictured is the pre-'34 Heer issue service uniform with slanted, flapped, internal lower pockets. Again, these would go with the helmet shown but are difficult to locate.

              Hello,

any of these two field uniforms will do.
M34 infantry EM, dark field grey collar with bottle green collar tabs and shoulder straps (cyphers of 95th IR removed as per regulations).
M36 pioneer NCO, bottle green collar and insignia (early pointed shoulder straps without Waffenfarbe, cyphers of 51th PiB).

I agree, for the record it is a "1928 pattern" (six button front) piped service tunic. These were "replaced" by the Waffenrock in 1935 but continued to be worn well into the War.
