Heer Jager tunic - please see

    Hello guys,

i just got this Heer tunic and i would like to ask some opinions on its originality. I like it the way it looks and feels, it has a little wear, the tunic has had a metal eagle, and loops for an EK1 or BWB. I think its a medical tunic, am i right ?

Please let me know what you think.

    thanks in advance.

    regards, Gabor

looks to be a nice example, just need a nice eagle for it and you are set. Matt

hmm, Jaeger patch attached rather haphazard and quite high. That blue is rather light for a medic. Litzen seem a bit crooked. A metal eagle on this kind of tunic rather odd. I am not a fan.

Seems more like grey-blue (specialist officer) to me but not medical. But I am not an expert

The tabs and board insignia would be for a Transport officer

Seems a okay private made officer summer tunic; can't tell from the photo's if the tabs are original on it though. The set up for the metal eagle is indeed a little unusual on this kind of field tunics but not impossible and appears original; furthermore, easier to restore then a removed sewn one.
The Jäger badge is a postwar attachment IMO.

I would like a hands on to be certain about the insignia application but who knows. Period pics show badges such as this jager one in all sorts of places on sleeves and what not. Either way the base tunic is a sweet one for sure. Matt

Hi, these are hard to tell and but based on the details and fabric (is it the same as a Windbluse?) I think the tunic is real, the insignia you really need to see in hand, if the Jager sleeve patch was applied during the War there should be strong color under the edges of the patch with more fading around it. You see the metal eagle worn on light weight tunics like this in period photos but it is very uncommon.
