    Signals or Cavalry

    I recently purchased this tunic removed set.The slip on with the letter A was on the shoulder boards when i purchased them and i do not know if this is or was standard practice.Another collector told me the A stands for Recon troops so all help would be very much appreciated.Alan

        According to the Davis book, "A" with a unit number below was used for mounted reconnaissance units however the color on your insignia looks definitely lemon-yellow like signals on my monitor and it doesn't have a unit number. "A" with unit number was also used for motorized reconnaissance, but the color would be copper brown.

          Hello!
          These are clearly signals to me. The "A" may stand for Aufklärung, but its signals intelligence, such as intercept, jamming, monitoring. A reconnaissance "A" would be written in the so-called Gothic style.

            In my monitor I to see Collartabs cavalleria? It seems to be different yellow, a bit darkly, Shoulderboards I to see yellow lemon - signals.
