    Panzer Wrapper Question

    All,
Yesterday a friend of mine showed me a panzer wrapper for sale. Unfortunately I didn't have a camera available and he can't send me photos, so I apologize for not having any to post here.

Anyway, the wrapper appeared to be all original. The partial liner was a thin black nylon (or at least a satiny like material). It had somewhat faded markings in white on the the interior liner on the wearer's upper left breast, which appeared to be size marking and a depot stamp of E44. There was an outline where the eagle had been. There were also outlines where the collar tabs had been, to include small remains of the pink piping on the interior of the collar. The cloth loops and the buttons for the shoulder straps had been removed. Other than that, the uniform was in excellent condition with all of the black buttons, no holes and no extreme wear to the wool.

My question is this - assuming the wrap is original, what is the approximate value? My friend wanted approximately $2100 for it. I know the eagle, collar tabs, and shoulder boards would cost another $750-$1000 and it would take a good while to even find them, so it would end up to be around $3K. I already have an original wrap with insignia, so I would only buy this one to resell. I can get a fair approximation of what I could sell it for after adding insignia (I figure around $4.5K, give or take a bit), but have no idea what I could sell it for as is without adding insignia.

I'd appreciate any help you can give me.
    Thank you,
    Dale

The price that his friend asks him to be able to be his price,
    + insignias price.
In that been this the tunic?
Without photos ... it is a problem it is not possible to say anything correct.
When you to buy to sell, can have this warp in his house long time, without selling, or to sell the same day, you choose, it if it is original
    All best

      Xisco,
      Thank you.

Any more opinions? I'm not asking anyone to tell me about originality w/o photos, I'm just asking for the going price for a stripped panzer EM wrapper. I can find wrappers with insignia for sell to get a price range, but I can't find any stripped tunics for sale so have no idea what one would go for.

From what you are describing the wrapper sounds original....If you can see pink piping on the reverse collar then it most likely had Russia braid (piping sewn direct to the collar in the shape of a collar tab) type collar tabs applied at the factory (see attached photo) but these late wrappers did not always have these type collar tabs applied.

        $2100 is a fair price,IMO.

          Glenn,
Appreciate it. The piping remains consist of only a small tuft in the corner of where the tabs had been, located exactly like the one you posted above where the final locking stitch was.

Yes,that would indicate Russia braid type tabs...I don't have a reverse photo of the above but here is the reverse of an assault gun tab.
